Causes of Illness
Inflammation
Recent research has shown that systemic inflammation is one of the most significant risk factors for disease. Allergens are other common factors that lead to inflammation throughout
the body.
Chemical Toxicity
Each year, more and more toxins and chemicals are introduced into our environment. When the body’s toxic levels get too high, these toxins can cause havoc in the body including DNA changes and cellular mutations. Chemical toxins can lead to inflammation and nutrient deficiencies in the body and can also be carcinogenic. Chemical toxins can range from sugar products to artificial sweeteners and can arise from unsuspected causes as complex as breathing in fumes such as solvents from paints.
Nutritional Deficiencies
Our bodies need nutrients in the form of vitamins and minerals to function properly. These nutrients act as co-factors in all biochemical processes. When these co-factors are missing or deficient, the body cannot function properly. Many common symptoms and diseases are resolved naturally by identifying the correct nutrient deficiencies.
Infection
When the body is not optimally balanced, it is common to have recurrent infections like the common cold. People find themselves getting sick often. In addition, many unknowingly suffer from remnant infection – the result of a condition experienced in the past; modern medicine tends to ignore this, though it has an ongoing negative effect on the cells of the body, resulting in a wide range of symptoms that are too often dismissed or ignored.
Stress
Stress is one of the most important factors that can lead to poor health. Stress can be physical or emotional and difficult to measure. Stress can also lead to nutritional deficiencies, the breakdown of the immune system, and inflammation.
All of the above factors are related to each other. For example, a nutritional deficiency can lead to increased inflammation. Depression can deplete up to 70% of the body’s energy. Remnant infection can result in a person experiencing fatigue, headaches, etc. Factors such as these individually and collectively cause ill health to our bodies.
It is therefore vital to treat the body in its totality, addressing all aspects of ill health.
