Your Health is in Your Hands
by Cathy Marchesani

Jo & Bill Paxton (Mom & Dad)

In the fall of 2002 my parents were out for a visit. They arrived, and my Dad had severe abdominal pains. They continued to get worse and worse, so we rushed him to the emergency room. After several hours and exams, the doctor told us he believes it’s cancer. When he left, I immediately said to my mom, “we need to pray and ask God to lead and guide our steps. We need to trust and believe for healing. We don’t receive sickness, we need to keep a positive attitude, we have God, and we have natural options.”

He was later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the doctor recommended a whipple procedure be done immediately. My dad decided to go ahead with the surgery. On the morning of the surgery, we prayed, read Psalms to comfort him, and told him he needs to see himself healed. After 8 hours of grueling surgery, at age 78, Dad made it through.

Now our work started. We brought him fresh juices, salads, and homemade soups. All of us took turns staying overnight. We helped him keep a positive attitude, and life giving food to expedite the healthy recovery. He was out of the hospital in 7 days, the doctors were amazed. The doctor recommended a light dose of chemo for 60 days, and my father decided to do that.

After studying natural health for 18 years, I knew we had options and hope. We decided to combine natural treatments with the traditional treatments. We immediately got him vitamin C I.V.’s 3 days a week to re-build his immune system and to offset the side effects of the chemo. He took natural supplements related to his specific condition, continued lots of fresh juice and greens, and maintained a
healthier diet.

After the chemo was finished, we sent my mom and dad to a natural health institute in Florida. For three weeks they ate only raw foods, received natural medical care, exercised, attended positive attitude classes, drank wheat grass juice, and had plenty of sunshine. It was incredible. They came back feeling rejuvenated and inspired.

Five years have passed, Dad is 83, and going strong. Today, he has continues the vitamin C treatments once a week, takes his natural supplements, eats healthier, and walks everyday. God led us as we asked. We took responsibility and combined all opportunities for healing. I know for sure, that if we didn’t do all the natural treatments and regimen, he would not be here today. Take responsibility for your health, it’s your body, there are natural options for healing.

Thanks for the opportunity to share our story.
